Marchiorato's inspiration for the design of Apartment Pipa was to create an environment with a contemporary and innovative character. The design solutions adopted for the project were always in accordance with the customers' wishes and respecting a classical architecture. The lightness in the project is found in the signed pieces, all with a light and modern design, without excesses. This reflects the standard that the firm seeks in its projects, the purity of the materials, and the contemporaneity.
What sets Apartment Pipa apart is its formal rigidity and finishes that, in the vision of the minimalist architect, become the basis of a contemporary dwelling. Signed Brazilian art and design pieces add a sense of belonging to the place and admire the local arts. The joy and youth is translated in the punctual colors, taking off the apartment of labels, becoming unique light and special in the context, like a kite in a clear sky.
Corian technology was used for this project, specifically for the staircase, due to the flexibility and durability of the material. The apartment is 159 square meters, a theoretically small environment, but with the final project, it becomes spacious and pleasant.
The apartment acts as a refuge for the residents. A project that sought large and integrated environments, so that residents feel welcomed. Some strong colors were used in the project so that the environments had a greater identity and youthfulness. The stairway was taken advantage of, so that it stands out and becomes a focal point in the project.
This project started in January 2019 in Curitiba and finished in April 2019. The design team, which included Giuliano Marchiorato, Victória Marchiorato, Matheus Reimão, and Guilherme Souza, tried to take advantage of the apartment's original stairs, which were poorly located, and the square footage, which is not that big.
The design of the apartment is in complete synergy and lightness. The spaces are fully utilized, forming integrated and wide environments. Wood as the main element joins the spaces, giving comfort and highlighting elements of the project. The pieces of furniture and the occasional use of colors, carefully chosen for each space, add the contemporary and minimalist character.
Apartment Pipa is an example of how architecture can transform environments. It is a testament to Giuliano Marchiorato's ability to create a space that is both contemporary and welcoming, and it is no surprise that it has been recognized with a prestigious Silver A' Design Award.
